so tim griffin has jumped on the benghazi bandwagon (lol)
part of the problem with writing to your representative is that they have your email address on file if they feel like sending out propaganda (lol lol)
but my email sorted his “12 versions of the truth about Benghazi” email straight to my spam folder (lol lol lol)

There are some old school Clintonistas in his district that could really mess him up for this. Republicans dropped this issue, but Hillary keeps getting stronger.

That legislative session has left me drained. Thank you for each time that you contacted your legislator or reposted a news item that helped inform other Arkansans. We will need to form this network again in the 2014 election year. If you’re looking for an internship, it seems like there are some campaigns and non-profit organizations that have been energized by the recent session. The political market is hot for change, and it starts with you.
I have been changed by this session. I have attended meetings, protests, and volunteer events. I have met legislators and candidates. I have talked to my friends and colleagues, and eventually we all hit the same level of outrage. I have clarified legislative positions for misinformed or confused family members. We should care about tort reform, school funding, capital gains taxes, deregulation, environmental easing, economic development, and women’s health issues. We should know who is pushing these changes and why, and raise a red flag when these issues will negatively impact people in poverty and other sensitive or exploited populations.
I guess what I am saying is that although this session was horrible, this session could have been much worse. Never forget. Energize for the 2014 elections.
Five years ago, Pryor was trotted out by Democratic activists as a great supporter of what was then a new effort: a political action committee named for a Bible verse, specifically Matthew 25. You know, the the one about caring for the least of these? Because with the families of the slaughtered children at Newtown on hand, Pryor voted to protect his own hide, so his constituents who fall for NRA lies won’t drive him out of office.
I need to find a better link for this, but today on NPR, they played the voice of a woman who yelled “Shame on you!” in the US Senate after the Manchin-Toomey amendment failed.
On NPR, they identified her as a person who interfered with the shooter in Tuscon, AZ when Gabrielle Giffords was shot and 6 other people killed.
Patricia Maisch, you are my new favorite person. Weigel gets it: http://www.slate.com/blogs/weigel/2013/04/17/tucson_shooting_survivor_yells_shame_on_you_at_senators_as_they_sink_manchin.html
Patricia Maisch for president.

I’ll leave you with these words from Gabrielle Giffords’ editorial in tomorrow’s NYT, I think it applies doubly to Arkansas.

Speaking is physically difficult for me. But my feelings are clear: I’m furious. I will not rest until we have righted the wrong these senators have done, and until we have changed our laws so we can look parents in the face and say: We are trying to keep your children safe. We cannot allow the status quo — desperately protected by the gun lobby so that they can make more money by spreading fear and misinformation — to go on.
I am asking every reasonable American to help me tell the truth about the cowardice these senators demonstrated. I am asking for mothers to stop these lawmakers at the grocery store and tell them: You’ve lost my vote. I am asking activists to unsubscribe from these senators’ e-mail lists and to stop giving them money. I’m asking citizens to go to their offices and say: You’ve disappointed me, and there will be consequences.
Senator John Boozman and Senator Mark Pryor, you’ve disappointed me, and there will be consequences.
